Support Teen Mental Health

When the pandemic hit in 2020, I saw my friend struggling with mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. My own sister fell victim to the isolation and became increasingly sad and withdrawn. With a lot of time on my hands and a desire to help teens like my sister I decided to use my art to support teen mental health. I researched local organizations with which I could get involved and sold print of my art to support the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide.

Support Ukrainian Refugees

Leveraging my experience in raising money to support SPTS, I decided to expand my fundraising efforts by organizing an art show and sale where other artists can showcase their art and contribute to a worthy cause. I brought in a fellow artist to organize an Art Show & Fundraiser in support of victims from the Ukrainian war crisis. We hosted a two day event to support United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) which provides vital services to refugees in war and disaster stricken zones. This cause is particularly important for me because both my parents are immigrants and I lead Riverdale for Refugees Club at my High School.

The Cause

United Nation’s High Commissioner For Refugees (UNHCR) is an organization providing essential services to people displaced by crisis including food, water, and medical care. When violence erupts or war breaks out, life can change in a matter of minutes—shattering families and communities and driving millions to flee. During refugee crises, UNHCR rushes in humanitarian aid and its expert staff, leading efforts to save lives and relieve suffering.
